For instance, silicone coatings are the only coating that can provide complete UV protection. Thanks to its UV-stable composition, it’s able to resist UV damage for a long time.
Energy Savings
Reflective roof coatings can also help lower a building’s cooling costs. Instead of absorbing heat, light-colored roof coatings reflect the sun, reducing the strain on the building’s HVAC system. Not to mention roof coatings can help extend a flat roof’s lifespan, reducing landfill waste.
Keep in mind that roof coatings aren’t a cure-all for roofing issues. Although coatings are sometimes applied to temporarily avoid tearing off your existing roof, it can only prevent, not fix, roof damage.
